What is post polio?

Late complication. Post polio syndrome is a late complication, occurring in about 25-50% of those surviving acute polio. It begins from 15 to 30 years after the acute infection. It consists of increased muscle weakness, pain in muscles and fatigue. It is not know why post polio syndrome occurs.
