I have a very hard time going to sleep on my own. 12 miligrams of melatonin and 4 Benadryl (diphenhydramine) to just fall asleep what can I do to get more sleep?

In brief: Insomnia

I agree with Dr. Mantz.
If use of good sleep hygiene does not correct your problems with sleep (and if it is a chronic problem) then medical assessment is indicated.

In brief: Lots

Not good choices for quality sleep.
With this much trouble, should see a doctor to find the cause. Many health conditions cause insomnia, and treating the symptom only won't help. Need good sleep hygiene, health habits that promote sleep. Includes regular exercise, no caffeine/stimulants after midday or earlier, consistent sleep and wake time, no strenuous physical/mental activity hour before bed.
