In brief: Different viruses

The cause of shingles is the varicella-zoster virus.
You first get chicken pox, the virus then sets up residence in the nerves in your body and comes out later in life as shingles, generally in a single nerve root distribution. It only involves one side. Genital herpes can occur with hsv 1 or 2, although more commonly type 2.

In brief: Not likely

Shingles is moat often attributed to the chicken pox (hsv family), not genital (hsv2).
Dr can test, if indicated for clarification.
