In brief: Plantar fascitiis
Is a common cause of heel pain.
A foot doc could help if ice, antiinflammatories, an arch support and stretching don't offer any relief of symptoms.

In brief: Plantar fasciitis
This is a common problem. It is typically self-limited.
Pain is worse when first putting weight on the foot. First line treatment is to stretch the bottom of the foot with heel stretches. Shoes with good support is also helpful.

rolling a bottle of ice with the sole of the foot can help relieve discomfort. stretches can also be doe by wrapping towel around base of toes and stretching foot towards you
