In brief: See a Dr!

Yes, rectal bleeding could be serious, especially if you have already been diagnosed with colitis.
Depending on the severity of the bleeding, you should see your doctor asap or even the emergency department if you don't have a primary physician or a GI specialist.

In brief: No

What form of colitis? Diverticulitis? You should speak with a surgeon regarding the colitis.
If they decide to do something surgically, often times they can do it at the same time with a gynecologist for the ovarian cyst.
