In brief: Many things
What you describe is more of a symptom than a diagnosis.
Add without hyperactivity is common in adults, but there are many other reasons for disorganization and attention problems (e.g. Depression). I would find a psychiatrist you can trust and discuss your symptoms in detail. He/she will ask you questions about your mood, sleep pattern, etc to determine if medication may be helpful.

In brief: Processing Problems
Learning & processing problems can be misdiagnosed as adhd.
If you learn best through "touch" rather than through listening, you may appear to have adhd but you don't, you have a processing problem. This creates a problem with listening and may create a state of disorganization and lack of attention. This type of problem can be corrected without drugs.

Many people with ADHD do not have hyperactivity, only difficulties with focus and organization. A number of learning disabilities may have the same end result (trouble with completion of tasks, slow work speed, difficulty with concentration), Also anxiety, depression, sleep deprivation, and frequent use of some drugs can cause similar symptoms.

In brief: The basics matter
A person will perform poorly when they have ineffective sleep, inadequate nutrition, illness or medical impairments and a stressful environment.
There are also Specific neurologic impairments other than ADHD that can cause disorganization. If you can rule out the basics, you need a good medical evaluation & referral as needed.
