I started using tampons for the first time and now have a yeast infection. Can tampons cause this?

In brief: Not really

Tampons do not cause yeast infections directly.
It is possible that in early use of these you somehow damaged the mucosa of your vagina and this predisposed to yeast infection, but just as possible this was purely coincidental.
