Is being attracted to your psychiatrist something that can be discussed and overcome, or should the pt be referred to another physician?

Discuss. Positive (or negative) feelings toward one's psychiatrist or therapist are normal & expected. Freud called it "transference". Even sexual attraction is common, although an ethical doctor never permits it to become action. Discussing such feelings can help you learn about yourself, & will make the doctor-pt relationship feel less awkward. All thoughts & feelings are safely discussed in therapy.
Transference. Should be discussed they interfere with your treatment--if they persist see someone else they used to say the best therapist is one you slightly dislike.
