How do I go about getting rid of my dry itchy skin, I find my skin pimples up when I put pressure and scratching on my skin.?
Moisturizer. Your pimples are likely related to hormonal changes in skin. You should get a good regimen of a cleanser and moisturizer to start with.
Dermatographism. This could be pressure-induced hives. Antihistamines could help.
Hydrate; Less Soap. Limit your showers to less that five minutes and use a soap free cleanser (cetaphil, olay for sensitive skin). Apply a fragrance-free, oil-free moisturizer at least once per day (eucerin, moisturel). For red, itchy areas, resist the temptation to scratch. Dry & itchy skin for 2-3 weeks. When I scratch it leaves reddish bumpy lines. That usually take 12 hrs to disappear. What could it be?
Need to examine. It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. However, the response to scratching is normal. Try using an emollient, like Vaseline on the dry skin. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats.
