I bit my tongue during a seizure and now the tip is numb, how long should this last?

Not long. It depends on many factors, one of the most important one being how deep and wide the gash, and how much bruising there is. I would guess that it should start getting better tomorrow and feel relatively normal within a few days. If not, or it gets worse or starts to swell, see your dentist to make sure there is no infection and it is healing normally. Rinse with some warm salt water.

Hello, I had a seizure on friday and bit my tongue. It's more than a bite it's about 1/2 in in circumference "flap" raised on my tongue. I thought i'd?

See ENT or DDS. The seizure is the cause of the tongue problem but now you need to get it fixed--that is, the tongue. Surgery may or may not be indicated. See an ENT or dds for answers. Tongue laceration. Waiting almost a week may have been counterproductive. The tongue is all muscle and the small "flap" you created has already started to heal itself. Keep it clean by rinsing after eating. It should heal on its own but will be "thicker" in the area after it is healed. If you saw a dds/oral surgeon immediately after the seizure--they may have been able to suture the laceration closed. Read more...
See Oral Surgeon. See an oral surgeon as soon as possible in order to determine if the laceration will continue to heal on its own or needs antibiotics or some revision. Read more...
