If you have one urinary tract infection, there may a predisposing factor to make you prone to others.
Age makes some causes more likely; young women are more likely to get episodes of cystitis (bladder infection) following sexual intercourse. Older women may get them from anatomical changes after childbirths, or dry vaginal walls. But if they become recurrent, see gynecologist and/or urologist.
