BTW, the American Psychiatric Association has ceased to use the term "Gender Identity Disorder" as reflected in its Diagnostic & Statistical Manual 5th Ed. (DSM-5). APA now uses the diagnostic classification "Gender Dysphoria" instead which it defines as "the emotional distress that can result from a marked incongruence between one’s experienced/expressed gender and assigned gender.” This seismic shift is likened to the 1973 declassification of gay/lesbian sexual orientation as a "mental disorder."

In brief: Call Medical Doctors

In your local area.
They should be able to provide you with names of physicians that specialize in transgender medical issues. You can also google "gay, lesbian and transgender health: medicineplus", an nimh/nih government web site. That should help you get started.
