In brief: Not more than 2 mons

It's probably not good to calorie restrict, which ketosos indicates, in any manner for much more than 4 weeks at a time to avoid plateauing and subsequent wt regain on a "usual" diet plan.

Many patients go into nutritional ketosis for extended periods for weightloss and then watch their carb intake more moderately thereafter. Many choose to stay in ketosis indefinitely or cycle in and out periodically. Some stay in ketosis indefinitely enjoying the many health benefits in particular those with prediabetes/diabetes or those who have difficulty maintaining optimal BMI otherwise.
