The diagnosis of lupus has pitfalls and I have seen people with lupus in whom the diagnosis was not made for many reasons. Recently we have seen and continue to see one of the national labs continue to use the wrong test to screen for lupus. We also see people who are diagnosed as having lupus who do not have lupus.

In brief: Complicated

Lupus is a difficult diagnosis to make.
It would be hard to diagnose yourself with lupus. It may be best to see a rheumatologist if you are concerned about this diagnosis.
