In brief: Not proven
For stress induced asthma.
You can try deep abdominal breathing, relaxation, guided imagery, biofeedback. In the meantime talk to your doctor about pharmacotherapy. Asthma can cause substantial long term damage if not controlled. Don't forget that asthma can and will kill, if given the chance.

Asthma is a disease of chronic inflammation - so if the inflammation is not directly reduced it is likely to cause remodeling of the airways - and I don't mean the sort of remodeling that you pay someone for. Your airways can become chronically thickened and scarred leaving you with long term shortness of breath and difficulty exercising, and probably shortening your lifespan.

This is very good advice. Around 1000 children die in the USA each year from asthma. Everyone one of these deaths is preventable. Our dysfunctional health care system is part of the problem, but the worst is parents smoking and believing untruths about this serious disease.

In brief: Sorry not many
Asthma is due to inflammation and mucus in the breathing tubes.
There are several causes, but treatment for symptoms needs to be prescribed.
