Is it possible to breastfeed a preemie?

In brief: Yes

It's actually, most of the time, the best way to feed a preemie.
Ones who need a feeding tube still benefit from breast milk and intimate contact even if they can't actually suckle.

Breast milk is the greatest gift you can give your little one. Not all preemies can feed from the breast immediately, so they are fed in other ways. So that there is sufficient milk production some new moms need to rent pumps for weeks (or months, as I did). But the benefits for the baby definitely make the mom's commitment worthwhile. Good luck.

It's even more important to nurse a preemie! you might need extra support, and might need to supplement, but it's a great idea to try!

Not only is it possible, often breastfeeding a premature infant is the ideal solution.
Besides providing ideal nutrition, breastfeeding also provides antibodies to protect the infant from infections. All breastfed infants are recommended to take vit d supplements and premature infants who are breastfed are recommended to take iron supplements and sometimes a breast milk fortifier.
