In brief: No

If it is uric acid it can be dissolved.
Uric acid stone does not show on plain xray but if you have history of uric acid stones, sodium bicarbonate to raise pH may dissolve stone. Most stones are calcium oxalate and cannot be dissolved.A stone that is 8X4mm is unlikely to pass on its own.Endoscopic procedure is advisable.Make sure you follow with your urologist.Best wishes.

In brief: Large ureteral stone

A stone this large in the ureter has a low probability of spontaneously passing.
Most stones cannot be dissolved chemically therefore surgical intervention with a ureteroscopic extraction is usually involved.
