I'm getting really bad allergies here in Austin, TX and it doesn't feel nearly the same as my annual allergies. Any suggestions?

Allergies can worsen. Allergies can worsen over time; someone who moves to a new place may not start out reacting to the local allergens but develop allergies to them over time. I agree with dr. Cunnar - oral antihistamines first, then, if needed, see your doctor and add a nasal steroid spray next. If necessary, singulair (montelukast) can be added as well. Each works by a different route, so they're complementary. Feel better!
Cedar fever. Austin seems to have problematic period from mid december through feb, secondary to cedar.
Antihistamines +. Allergies can vary from year to year, depending on weather/wind patterns. For sneezing and drippy nose - take an antihistamine (claritin, etc), if there are no contraindications. If that doesn't cut it, then see your physician for possible nasal steroid, or the pill singulair, (montelukast) which works on leukotrienes. Good luck!
