Pimples occur in hair follicles, not in pores. So why is "non-comedogenic" (doesn't clog pores) makeup better for avoiding acne?

Pore around follicle. There are minute hairs at the pore opening. Oil glands come to the surface at pores and are associated with small hair follicles. Comedogenic products block the opening form the oil gland causing an accumulation of debris and eventually inflammation.
Follicles are pores. The skin pores are actually follicles that have sebaceous glands which can get clogged and appear as acne. The cosmetic industry term is misleading and i don't think one way or another it will make a difference. Some people are prone to acne more than others especially hormone related. Good skin care is the proper way to go.
