In brief: Unfortunately, yes
Heartburn is more common when we lie down.
You can try a few things. First, take Tums or Pepcid (famotidine) about 20 minutes before bed. Second you can try to prop up the head end of your bed by putting bricks under the posts of the top of the bed. This may decrease the amount of reflux you get. If you are still uncomfortable, ask your doctor about other medications for heartburn.
