I am not pregnant, but when I sneeze the muscles of my uterus contract and stay contracted for up to 10 minutes. What is causing this?

In brief: Nerves

It is really cool in some ways, but i can understand the concern.
The nerves in the pelvis that make the muscles contract to sneeze can be closely related to the nerves to the uterus. For some people, this means that sneezing or hard coughing makes the uterus contract. If you get a cold, Ibuprofen can help decrease the pretty painful contractions.
