In brief: Yes,
but those that contain EPA omega-3 lower triglycerides and LDL cholesterol, those that contain both DHA and EPA will lower triglycerides but raise LDL cholesterol.
If you don't want dietary supplement fish oil there's prescription EPA Vascepa or EPA/DHA Lovaza. Epanova is another just approved by FDA.

Not true, the DHA fish oil does raise LDL but EPA lowers both triglycerides and LDL-C

In brief: Happy heart
Dr v pointed out how fish oil can help your blood cholesterol.
We also know that taking fish oil can lower your risk of heart attacks and dying from bad heart rhythms, the very things we're trying to prevent. Does an "apple a day keeps the doctor away?" maybe we should be saying fish oil instead of apple!

In brief: Hype
Krill oil and fish oil are the new snake oil, both are high in omega 3 fatty acids which are extremely fragile.
Omega 3 fish oils reduce triglycerides by impairing the liver's ablility to make them. However the oxidative stress caused by fish oil actually raises LDL cholesterol. Some day we may use the phrase "this is just more fish /krill oil" or "here comes the fish/krill oil salesman".
