I agree with Dr Werner's recommendations. Lifestyle and behavioral choices can impact cholesterol; however, there is a genetic aspect that may not be impacted despite excellent health choices.

I agree with Dr. Blackwelder. While lifestyle changes can lower cholesterol, the strongest data for improved outcomes belong to statins and I heartily advocate their use when indicated.
