In brief: Symptoms & tests
I am not sure what location is of concern.
In women, vaginal yeast infection is by far the most common one. Usually, they complain of curdy, discharge with or without associated burning. Frequently, they may have no symptoms. Using KOH preparation or a new test called affirm may confirm the presence of vaginal yeast. Gi yeast may be revealed at the time of egd/colonoscopy. Thrush is visible yeast.
