In brief: Propofol

Propofol has become the number one sedation drug used by anesthesia.
Although it is not reversible it is clinically eliminated within just minutes of the last dose, therefor patients wake up much quicker a feel more refreshed than after a dose of a benzodiazepine such as versed or valium.

In brief: Versed

Versed (midazolam) is a shot acting benzodiazepine similar to valium.
It is an anxiolytics and sedative which gives amnesia.
