First see your doc. What you describe could be a cold but could also be the flu. Colds are going to go away on your own and you can take robitussin, tylenol (acetaminophen) and saline nasal sprays. Flu can be very very serious in pregnancy and is treated with special anti-viral medication.
Tylenol (acetaminophen) Tylenol (acetaminophen) is, by far, the safest of all pain medication to take for the symptoms you described. Although, Ibuprofen is assigned to category b drugs (safe), there is a growing body of evidence that it may be responsible for miscarriages if used in the first trimester. Its use in the third trimester is strongly discouraged due to premature ductus arteriosus closure. Drink plenty of fluids. This helps.
Acetaminophen. Not many medicines are studied well in pregnancy, the one that is certainly found to be safe is Acetaminophen (tylenol). Taking 2 tabs of extra strength (500mg) every 6 hrs is safe. Although most sore throat is viral sometime it is strep and needs antibiotics which are safe. You may use other conservative measures as warm salt water gargles for 2 days but if not better get it checked out.
Tylenol (acetaminophen). Warm salt gargle and tylenol (acetaminophen) is safe during pregnancy. Avoid Ibuprofen since evidence now support preterm labor as a risk.
Tylenol (acetaminophen) And gargle with warm salty water.
Sore throat for a month slight fever....Could it be hiv? 15 years, no sex, don't take drugs, nobody in my family has hiv.....Scared
? Why do you think you have HIV if you have no risk factors? Is there other information that you are concerned about but not reporting? If so, talk to your own physician about this so to relieve your anxiety. This is my best advise.
No. Based on the information you have provided, it would be basically impossible for you to have hiv. I would still suggest going to your doctor to find out why you have a sore throat and slight fever; the odds are quite strong that it is curable.
Difficulty breathing, dry cough, fever and now a sore throat. What is this? And what medicine should I take or any home remedies that would help?
Acute Bronchitis. Is very common disease caused by cold or upper respiratory infection. Usually improves without complications in a week, but the cough can last for several weeks. If the condition accompanied by wheezing or shortness of breath, fever over 100.5 f, interferes with your sleep, see your pcp for further investigation.
Clivus chordoma patient having flu Stiff neck and sore throat Her body is paining due to fever What will be best medicine to take away this flu?
Neurologist this am. The treatment for flu is symptomatic Tylenol (acetaminophen) and ibuprofen. The stiff neck means you need to contact the treating neurologist this morning. Viral infections can sometimes cause meningitis. That could cause a stiff neck (rather than the chordoma). If you can't reach him/her she needs to go to an urgent care center or ER.
Cirohsis n hep c, fore sore throat n fever what medicine should take which will not effect the liver.
Throat culture. You should be checked for a bacterial throat infection such as strept. If positive and if you are not allergic, Amoxicillin will usually work and not affect liver function.
Under my rib cage looks swollen on my left side. I have symptoms of mono but no sore throat or fever. Going for CT scan tomorrow. Anything I can take?
Mono. If you have mono then it can cause an enlarged spleen. There is no cure for mono. It just has to run its course. If you do have an enlarged spleen then it is important to avoid certain activities that can cause splenic injury since it would be fragile. Things like contact sports.
