In brief: High BP on drugs

You need to discuss your BP drug regimen with your physician.
You are on a low dose of norvasc, (amlodipine) the maximum dose is 10 mg/day, and may nned to be increased. If you have some edema, perhaps a diuretic is indicated to lower your bp. Speak to your physician (p) about your problem, as your p knows your medical history much better than anyone. Good luck.

In brief: Hypertension

Hypertension often requires multiple medications for optimal control.
Reducing ones salt intake can help. In addition, the addition of a low dose of diuretic can help. Another neurohormonal drug, spironolactone (or the related drug, epleronone), can also be helpful. Special lab tests should be done to help determine the cause of the hypertension.
