My back is hurting and my training thinks my hips are not firing up?

Rest it... If your 'training' is paining you in any way then that is your body's way of letting you know you are pushing it too hard; so my advice is to take a rest. Stretching is also very important. If you are still symptomatic then get to your primary care doc and get an examination to make sure that nothing is "out of joint". Cheers!
