In brief: Rest and rehab

The problem with achilles tendon is the poor circulation for healing.
So it takes longer to heal than other tendons or muscles. First rest and ice the tendon to reduce the inflammation. Then stretching(dynamic and static) to reduce the tension on the tendon that causes it to get sore. First get eval by a podiatrist then they will guide you when physical therapy is right.

In brief: Walking boot

If there is pain you need to stop all stretching or strenuous activities.
The tendon need to rest to heal. Immobilization in a boot for 4 to 6 weeks is necessary to allow for adequate healing otherwise you risk rein jury or rupture. After care includes physical therapy and orthotics to prevent abnormal torque on the tendon.
