In brief: No better option.

While it is unfortunate to develop appendicitis during pregnancy, it is not that rare.
In reality, surgery is much safer for you and your fetus than treating appendicitis nonsurgically. Fortunately, your surgery took place in your 2nd trimester, after major fetal organ development has taken place. I would bring these concerns up with your OB during your next visit.

In brief: OK

Appendectomy if done under spinal anesthesia should be safe.
Baby needs meternal fetalmedicine follow up. I dont have complete details here to coment on this entirely and your obgyn can give the best answer.

It would be highly unusual for an appendectomy to be performed under spinal anesthesia; almost all are done under general anesthesia.
