How do you get rid of a fungal infection on toenail? Is there any proven home remedies?

In brief: Many ways...

Topical solutions, oral medications, laser treatments, surgical removal, homeopathic remedies, etc.
The most used treatment is oral Lamisil (terbinafine) tablets once daily for 90 days. See a podiatrist for what may be best for your specific needs and expectations. Tea tree oil is one of the home remedies that has been shown to work and some have tried Vicks vaporub.

In brief: We can try!

Toenail fungus is very common, and unfortunately very difficult to cure 100%.
We can test the nail to see if it is a callused or traumatized nail or if it is indeed fungus, and from there you have several options: topical or oral antifungal medications, laser nail treatment, or removal of the nail in severe cases. See your doctor to talk about which treatment is right for you.

In brief: Home remedies...no

Lets start first by saying topicals don't work.
. Despite what ads and commercials may tell you. Several oral preparations are available such as itraconazole, terbinafine and fluconazole. Personally i like Fluconazole (and its the cheapest too) which can be pulsed weekly at 150-300mg for 3-6 months for fingernails...6-12 for toenails.
