In brief: Have it evaluated.

There are various possible treatment options depending on the location and severity of the injury.
Options may include: immobilization, physical therapy, and surgical repair.

In brief: Ankle Brace Swelling

If the foot was swollen from the ankle sprain & you have not worn any compression, or not doing any movement-which would allow your foot & leg muscles to contract & pump blood back-then swelling could be expected.
As my podiatry colleagues have said-go back to the provider & check it out---you may need a different brace or size. Good luck! dr george tsatsos anklenfootcenters.Com.

In brief: Maybe not.

The brace is used to decrease your pain and increase stability.
If it is causing more swelling, it could mean that you are upright much more when you are wearing the brace and more swelling is generated, the brace is on incorrectly or is too tight, or that you don't need it. Speak to the provider that gave you the brace.
