I am unable to deal with stress in my life and have tried a lot of different methods. I don't want to take medication. I am feeling hopeless.

Need therapy. You may benefit from working with a psychotherapist who can help you learn to deal with your stress. Psychotherapy can also help with depression & hopelessness -- but if you have a full-blown major depressive episode, medications may still be suggested. The therapist would not be able to prescribe them, but starting there would be a reasonable path to getting well. Good luck.
