In brief: Message gums

You may have a form of gum disease.
If it is not to severe you may be able to control it with brushing and flossing.. Other wise you will need help from a dentist to prevent tooth loss or more expensive treatment.

In brief: You can try...

... A salt water rinse.
Than will help, but just a tiny bit. You need to determine the cause of the redness and soreness, basically the inflammation. Usually that is caused by bacteria which are stuck to your teeth in the form of hardened calculus. You will need to see a dentist to have the calculus removed so that your gums may heal. Feel better soon.
