I have meniscus tear in my left knee, I am 5.4" and weigh 70 kg, I want to lose some weight what are my knee pain free exercise options?

Exercise no help. If there is a significant tear causing pain, then exercises will not cause the pain to disappear. You need arthroscopic surgery to repair the tear. Over time, an unrepaired repair can cause damage to the articular cartilage. Read more...

I have had a horizontal tear of the medial meniscs in my left knee diagnosed a couple of year ago. Since that time I have had moderate knee pain but I have avoided having an arthroscopy despte a doctor's recommendation. Am I likely to cause long term dama

Possibly. If you trim it it won't propagate and tear significantly more. If it doesn't stop you from your enjoyable activities then keep going. What generally happens is the tear will worsen with some event and hurt more and you may then have it fixed. The cartilage on the bone is less protected and will wear down more with time (degenerative, post traumatic arthritis). Read more...

Was weeding & kneeling for 15 minutes. When I stood up, can't bear weight on left knee w/out severe front knee pain. Doesn't hurt when sitting. Tips?

Conservative care . Could be an injury to the soft tissue structures within the knee, possibly the meniscus. I would treat with conservative care: rest, ice, and perhaps Aleve (naproxen) or similar product. Hopefully it will resolve in short order. Read more...
