Are there any other 3 months injections or form of birth control that stops periods except Depo-Provera provera (medroxyprogesterone)?
Yes. Any birth control pill taken continuously will stop your periods, and there are a few that are specifically packaged that way. Similarly, the NuvaRing can be left in for 4 weeks and then swapped out. The Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud will usually stop periods, and Implanon is an implant placed under your skin that will last 3 years.
I was on Depo-Provera provera (medroxyprogesterone) for 6 mo, then switched to birth control. Was on that for 6 mo. It's been 5 mo since stopping, and no period at all. Why?
Your body needs time. Was 2nd form of birth control progesterone-only? Your brain has been fed hormones for months. There is something called the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonad axis. This endocrine pathway has been suppressed for a long time: the progesterone blocked GNRH from hypothalamus & FSH & LH from pituitary, essentially down-regulating the ovaries & making them dormant. Ask your doc to check your hormone levels.
I started Depo-Provera provera (medroxyprogesterone) for birth control. I got the shot and my period has been nonstop. Is it safe totake norethindrone at the same time as depo?
Depends. Sounds like you're overdoing the Progesterone and most of the time there's no real need for it.
I'm on my period and Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone) birth control. Should I worry about being pregnant since I had unprotected sex?
Birth control. No birth control is 100% safe I would suggest if you may be pregnant you should do a pregnancy test.
I was on Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone) for my birth control (had 2 shots). I had my period every month (it was very light). I've been since 7/16/14 can I get pregnant/?
Stop injections. Stop your Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone) injections if you desire pregnancy.
I want to donate my eggs, I am on Depo-Provera provera (medroxyprogesterone) (birth control injection) can I still donate?
Yes. You have to stop contraceptives, have to have normal periods, must be ovulation, have to under go vigorous screening process, at 38 you may not be the top choice, but still possible speak to your gyn doctor.
