What is the usual initial presentation for prostate cancer?

Asymptomatic. Most patients who present with prostate cancer are without symptoms. Usual presentation is an elevated psa (prostate specific antigen).Digital rectal exam is another. Accidentally during transurethral resection for bph. Urinary obstructive symptoms may occur - increased frequency, urgency, pain on urination; however, these are not specific for prostate cancer. Bone pain when advanced-but not usual.
