How low can blood sugar drop and not be fatal. Can your level drop into the 20's or teens and you still survive.

In brief: Briefly

The brain has an absolute need for glucose as fuel & a transient drop in blood sugar is similar to a transient loss of oxygen.
A brief drop to quite low levels can be compatible with survival but the longer it is down the more likely you are to have brain injury. There are other variables, newborns & children are more tolerant to a drop ( i've seen 5mg%) than an older child or adult.
