In brief: Aspirin Allergy
Some persons with Aspirin allergy are allergic to all Aspirin related products while others are allergic only to specific products.
Typically tylenol (acetaminophen) -acetominophen can be taken safely by all persons with Aspirin allergy. Most Aspirin related products block cox1 & cox 2 enzymes. Some persons with Aspirin allergy can take selective cox-2 blockers such as celebrex. Consult an allerist to be safe.

In brief: Tylenol (acetaminophen)
Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Acetaminophen is a non- Aspirin medication for pain or headache.
It is not an anti-inflammatory medication. Steroids such as Prednisone are strong non-aspirin anti-inflammatory drugs.

In brief: Define "allergy"
If Aspirin gives you asthma or hives, stick to tylenol (acetaminophen).
If you have had stomach bleeding in the past, baby Aspirin (81mg) is usually tolerated since the stomach risk is dose related. Coated Aspirin is not effective & should not be used, but stomach meds such as Omeprazole are good protection. First define your indication, then ask your dr to help decide what is best for you. Many people now take d.
