In brief: True!

Pulmicort is an inhaled form of corticosteroid designed to reduce inflammation in your lungs that make asthma worse.
The reason it has less side effects than the pill form is because the liver is able to break down much of the drug before it can affect the rest of your body. Pulmicort is the asthma drug of choice for pregnant patients and is category b.

In brief: Not sure of question

Anabolic steroids (in athletes) are different than glucocorticoids that are used to treat inflammation.
In asthma inhaled corticosteroid like pulmicort is used as maintenance therapy and have a safer profile than systemic (liquid, pill or iv) as it is much lower dosing. - micrograms vs milligrams. This concept applies to all inhaled corticosteroids not just pulmicort.

In brief: They're not the same

The "steroids" used in asthma are related to cortisone .
Anabolic steroids( those used by athletes, body builders, etc) are different. The asthma inhaled steroids have very little absorption into your blood stream so that there is very little, if any, problem. They are very important if you have persistent asthma and must be taken as instructed not when you have an attack. Good Luck
