In brief: GENERIC DRUGS

Pharmaceuticals are big business.
Insurance companies want to pay as little as possible for your prescribed drugs and, often times, mandate, that the physician substitute what we order. This isn't always in your best interest. Some of the mail order drugs are generics and could be the same as generics in the pharmacy. Ask your healthcare provdier.

Unfortunately some are not as effective as the brand name drugs

In brief: Yes

Thge mail order houses use the same generic medications that most pharmacies use.
Different generic manufacturers can make the same drug so the company with the best price will probably be used. This holds for all facets mail order as well as community pharmacies.
