Cephalosporin antibiotic for uti? And does this class of antibiotics cause any heart effects like qt prolongation?

See below. Cephalosporin antibiotics are frequently used to treat uti's. They are usually very well tolerated and do not generally prolong the qtc interval.
OK for UTI;no longQT. The cephalosporin class can be used for treatment of a uti. Hopefully a culture was obtained to make sure the bacteria you are treating is sensitive to this. Cephalosporins cause no long qt issues.
