In brief: Sleep
If your teenager is suffering from insomnia, most likely it is due to poor sleep habits.
Proper sleep habits, consistent wake up time, and supplements such as melatonin, valerian, chammomille, and tryptophan could be helpul. However if your child has a serious sleep disturbance, sleep apnea, or symptoms of anxiety or depression seek help.

In brief: There are a couple
I would recommend first trying healthy sleep habits such as not watching tv in bed, avoiding caffeine close to bed time, and doing relaxing activities close to bed time.
If this does not work, you could try melatonin which can be purchased over the counter. However i think you'll find most sleep problems are solved with proper sleep habits.
