Some people carry a mutation known as ccr5-?32 in the ccr5 gene, protecting them against these strains of hiv. Unless u also have this ccr5-?32 mutation, u are at risk for hiv. Even still, always practice safe sex! if he refuses to use condom or safe sex techniques, avoid sex with him. Getting HIV is no trade-off for few moments of fun.

There are theories circulating that the 2 forms of delta 32 mutations (heterozygous and homozygous) confer more protection again going on to full blown aids and or not being able to be infected at all. The heterozygous men may have the virus but not progress at all...So yes you can still be infected.
