My mothers legs are swollen, red and warm from the knees downwards. Sometimes it's so bad that she can barely walk! please help.?

Concerns would be problems with venous return or lymphatic return causing edema or lymphedema.
Secondary to that is possible cellulitis or phlebitis. This is especially concerning if your mother has a compromised immune system from chronic disease or diabetes. Please have this checked out by a physician asap.
