In brief: Control of sugars

First would start with your PCP or your endocrinologist to make sure you have good control of your HBa1c.
Then it will be connecting these providers with you OB-GYN to ensure success. Insulin requirements will change during pregnancy.

In brief: Check with your MD

Type 1 diabetics who are well-controlled, i.
e., whose blood sugar is and has been tightly controlled in the recommended range can conceive and carry to term. However, they are higher risk pregnancies in several respects which your doctor can review with you. Poorly controlled pre-pregnancy diabetics have a much higher risk of having infants with congenital anomalies.

In brief: Are you really 52?

If you are really 52 years old, it might not be possible to get pregnant.
If that is a mistake, get a check-up and make sure your A1C is around 6. This is important because it lowers your risk of a diabetes related birth-defect. Best wishes!
