In brief: Possible

Allergic reactions to suture materials are possible but very uncommon.
If there is itching, poor wound healing at the site of the suture, be sure to see your surgeon.

In brief: Kind of

Some people will not be able to dissolve the sutures and therefore their body will spit them out and "reject them".
Usually removing the sutures allows the wound to heal without any further problems. Make a note to any surgeon that you may have had a reaction to these if you undergo any further procedures.
