In brief: Unsafe,let MD inspct

The Mirena (levonorgestrel) IUD is one of the BEST forms of birth control available, why remove it? If it's causing pain or some problems it's still better to see the doctor for it to be removed to ensure that there weren't any defects of the IUD and to see if you wanted something else for birth control.
Don't remove it yourself b/c you may end up causing unnecessary vaginal abrasions.
