Maybe. Floppy baby syndrome or hypotonia has many causes. Most babies with hypotonia can receive their immunizations on time, however each child will need to be evaluated before the specific question can be answered. It is a delicate balance between preventing a serious infection and potential side effects of vaccines.
Same vaccinations. A floppy baby (hypotonic, loose muscles) or a spastic baby (hypertonic, tight muscles) can usually get the same vaccinations that normal babies get. This is because floppy babies usually are floppy for reasons that don't have anything to do with vaccinations. Also, if a baby has floppy, weak chest muscles, he may have a harder time coughing or breathing if he gets pneumonia or the whooping cough.
