My baby has had loose stools for almost a week and a half now. Is that normal?

In brief: Loose stools

Depends on the age and the babie's diet, and sometimes the mother's diet.
In many circumstances loose stools can be normal. Has there been a change in diet or a change in formula? Is the baby growing normally or not. If the problem persists without a good explaination of the cause, then discuss this with the babi's doctor to determine whether or not an examination is necessary.

In brief: May not be

One common cause is overfeeding in formula-fed infants.
However, breastfed infants often have loose bms several times a day. In older children over-consumption of fruits and fruit juices and chewing sugar-free gum can also cause diarrhea.
